LSD Compound To Treat Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Text of LSD to treat anxiety over a light blue background

Study

LSD compound (MM120) to improve anxiety symptoms in participants with generalized anxiety disorder symptoms.

The trial involved 194 participants with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) who received either a placebo, 25 micrograms, 50 micrograms, 100 micrograms, or 200 micrograms of MM120, a proprietary product that is a form of LSD.

Results

After four weeks, participants who took the larger doses (100 and 200 micrograms) showed statistically significant decreases in anxiety symptoms compared to the placebo group. Those who received the smaller doses of 25 and 50 micrograms showed no difference compared to placebo.

Discussion

The findings suggest that a single large dose of LSD has therapeutic efficacy for reducing anxiety symptoms.
