Intentional Substances for Social Settings & Alternatives to Alcohol

  • Kava Collective 1731 University Avenue San Diego, CA, 92103 United States (map)
Intentional Substances for Social Settings and Alternatives to Alcohol Wednesday may 15th at 8pm

About This Event

Join Pivot and The AWARE Project for a "substance-positive” conversation about the intentional use of plants for whatever supports our fullest lives.

This week's discussion will center around the substances we use for pro-social effects: greater connection, eased anxiety, and relaxation. While alcohol is America's drug-of-choice for social settings, there are several legal alternatives that offer similar and unique positive effects, often with fewer health risks.

Let's widen the conversation about substances, share what works for us, and discover new paths for our individual and collective wellness.

How Does The Event Work?

This is a ticketed, private, group event. Pivot founder and guide Nick Martin will facilitate the group.

The experience will last about 1.5 hours and follow this structure:

  1. Welcoming & Grounding - Ice-breaker, group commitments, intention-setting, grounding exercise

  2. Discussion Topic - Presentation of the main topic: substances we use for social settings, and give individuals a chance to reflect

  3. Breakout Groups - Split off into pairs or small groups to converse and share

  4. Collective Sharing - Coming back together as a large group, we’ll open the space for people to share their experience, insights, and learnings from the night

  5. Closing & Social - We’ll close the group and let people mingle and depart as they wish

How Do I Register?

You can secure your spot by purchasing a ticket ahead of time. Tickets are set on a sliding scale and range from $15-30:

  • Fully Meeting Needs - Consider paying the full ticket price of $30, if you are someone who fully meets their financial needs

  • Mostly Meeting Needs - Consider paying a partial ticket price of $22, if you are someone who experiences some stress, but still regularly meets their needs

  • Struggling to Meet Needs - Please consider paying $15, if you are someone who frequently stresses about meeting needs and sometimes cannot meet them

Please contact awareprojectorg@gmail.com if you are struggling to meet your needs and the $15 ticket is still prohibitive for you.
